Lurker

This started as a simple lighting study based on a movie frame, but quickly grew to be larger as I wanted to give the scene a more interesting focal point. The main tree, surrounding trees and sticks were made in ZBrush and 3ds MAX, the smaller foliage and logs are from Megascans with some texture and wind adjustments. Everything is Nanite which allowed the trees to be quite geometrically dense as I wanted to avoid smooth trunk silhouettes as much as possible. I made the fog flipbook particles a long time ago in Houdini and re-used them here to give the scene some motion.
